Work & Experience
Warren values whānau time and actively supports and participates in the lives and extracurricular activities of his tamariki and moko. He is guided by the whakataukī: “He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata! He tangata! He tangata!” — emphasising that people are at the heart of all that matters.
Warren brings over 17 years of experience in private clinical practice, working with individuals, couples, and whānau across a wide range of social, psychological, and psychiatric concerns — from general wellbeing to more acute and complex challenges. The majority of his mahi is with ACC Sensitive Claims, providing specialised support for clients impacted by trauma. He also works across several Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) services, supporting individuals in workplace and personal wellbeing.
He supports clients to explore their behaviours, building awareness and insight into their thoughts, attitudes, actions, and resulting consequences. Through this process, he encourages meaningful and sustainable behavioural change.
Warren is skilled in cognitive restructuring, helping clients develop practical strategies to think differently and respond more effectively to life’s challenges. He also provides relationship and marriage counselling, including guidance and conciliation support for couples navigating separation.
In addition, Warren is due to complete his training in Sex Therapy, expanding his ability to support clients with intimacy, sexual wellbeing, and relational dynamics in a safe, respectful, and culturally responsive way.
His broader experience includes 2 years in Ngāi Tahu Runaka management and 5 years serving on a Kura/School Board of Trustees, contributing to community leadership and governance. He also spent 3 years with Relationship Aotearoa (formerly Relationship Services Whakawhanaungatanga), supporting individuals and couples in strengthening relationships and communication.
