Kia ora, my name is Shane Hooper, and I’m a Registered Social Worker who cares deeply about supporting people on their journey toward healing and wellbeing. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside people in mental health, care and protection, and youth work settings. These experiences have helped me understand how trauma can affect people in different ways, and how important it is to feel safe, listened to, and supported.

My approach is flexible, and I use different ways of working depending on what each person needs. I focus on creating a safe and respectful space that is trauma-informed, bicultural, and strengths-based, so people can move at their own pace and feel supported in their healing.

At the heart of my work is the belief that real change happens through connection, kindness, and working together. I feel privileged to walk alongside people as they make sense of their experiences and move toward healing, empowerment, and hope.'
